FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern righthander Parker Burgess is off the board as the Bucs sophomore fireballer has signed at the College of Charleston to continue his academic and athletic career in 2026-2027.
Burgess was a workhorse for the Bucs as a freshman last season, throwing in 15 games including 13 starts, going 2-2 with a 5.89 ERA. He logged 36 2/3 innings, dialing up 41 strikeouts, good for 10.06 per 9. He burst onto the scene for the Bucs last season, going his first 16 innings over five appearances without allowing an earned run to begin his FSW career. His shining moment came in the Bucs second Citrus Conference series of the year when he threw six innings of one-hit Baseball, punching out eight in a 1-0 win over #22 Indian River which clinched the series for the Bucs and eventually ended up being the difference in FSW winning the conference title over the Pioneers.
Burgess will join a history rich Charleston program in 2027 who picked up 37 wins a season ago and reached the CAA Semifinals.
Burgess is one of two Bucs to sign during the early peiod, joining battery mate Evan Tavares who inked with Central Florida.
