Quarles Named FCSAA's Best in Week Three
After collecting four straight multi-hit games for the #3 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers last week, sophomore outfielder Bishop Quarles has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as announced by the State Tuesday.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After collecting four straight multi-hit games for the #3 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers last week, sophomore outfielder Bishop Quarles has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as announced by the State Tuesday.
Quarles was on fire for the Bucs last week, hitting .625 with nine runs scored and eight RBIs in four FSW contests. Tuesday on the road at Palm Beach he went 3-5 with four runs scored and backed that up with a two hit effort in the Bucs win over Hillsborough to open Citrus Conference play on Thursday. He continued his tear on Saturday against the Hawks, going 2-2 with a homer, three RBIs, and a pair of stolen bases in game one to help the Bucs clinch the series victory before going 3-5 with a triple, a home run, and three RBIs in game two of the twinbill.
Quarles, who was recently ranked the #2 prospect in junior college by Perfect Game, is currently hitting .426 on the year for the Bucs and leads the team with 18 RBIs and 21 runs scored on the year.
Quarles and the Bucs are back in action on Tuesday when they head North to take on DII #1 Pasco-Hernando in a non-conference contest beginning at 5 PM.
