CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Despite dropping a series to Central Florida over the weekend, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers stayed strong at #11 in the NJCAA Week 8 National Rankings on Tuesday.
The Bucs played three tight games against #20 Central Florida last week, winning a 2-1 extra innings battle on Friday before dropping 6-5 and 6-4 decisions on Saturday to see the series slip from their hands.
There was no change in the top seven in the week eight poll as Johnson County, Midland, Chipola, Gaston, and Cloud County continued to hold down the top five spots. Along with Chipola at #3 and FSW at #11, the FCSAA was also represented by #18 Central Florida and #21 Gulf Coast State.
The Bucs are back in action on Thursday at home at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers when they host Seminole State in a 3 PM first pitch.
