FORT MYERS, Fla.- A league high 10 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers were named to the 2026 All-Citrus Conference Baseball team announced by the conference on Friday. The Bucs had three players named to the 1st Team while seven FSW players were tabbed 2nd Team selections.
Leading the way for the Bucs was sophomore righthander Nicholas Lorenz who was named both the Citrus Conference Fireman of the Year and a 1st Team All-Conference selection. Lorenz led the nation with 9 saves during the regular season and ranked third in the Citrus Conference with 12.90 strikeouts per nine in his 16 appearances this season. He posted a 3.63 ERA and allowed just 13 hits in 22 1/3 innings pitched on the year.
Joining Lorenz on the 1st Team was slugger Aiden Talarico who was the only player in the state of Florida to rank in the top five in home runs, RBIs, and stolen bases this season. He hit .363 while cracking 17 home runs which ranked second in the conference and drove in 72 runs which were 9 more than any other player in the league. He also went 23 for 26 in stolen base attempts which was fourth best in the league.
The final of three Bucs 1st Teamers was shortstop Nick April-Gath. April-Gath impacted the game on both sides for the Bucs this season, hitting .388 with 7 home runs and 58 runs scored while also fielding .958 and turning 21 double plays to also pick up All-Defensive Team honors.
The other side of April-Gath's double play combo, Jonah St. Antoine, was a 2nd Team All-Conference selection. St. Antoine hit .377 and posted a 1.032 OPS for the Bucs during the regular season, accounting for 95 runs in 48 games with 45 driven in and 50 scored. He was also named to the All-Defensive Team after committing just two errors in 123 chances at second base this season.
The third FSW infielder to earn All-Conference honors was Robbie Demetree who was a 2nd Team pick. Demetree popped 11 home runs and drove in 45 on the year for the Bucs, both of which ranked in the top 10 in the Citrus Conference.
Do it all centerfielder Bishop Quarles was also a 2nd Team selection. He hit .359 and stole 24 bases which ranked third in the league while accounting for 96 runs for the Bucs with 37 driven in and 59 scored.
Freshman Keenan Jabeth earned 2nd Team honors at designated hitter and hit he did as a rookie this season. Jabeth was electric for the Bucs in Citrus Conference play, posting a 1.235 OPS while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 18 in 23 conference contests.
Behind the plate Greg Caban picked up a 2nd Team All-Conference nod for the Bucs. He hit .323 while cracking a pair of home runs and driving in 32 on the year.
Last but not least were a pair of Buccaneer arms who earned 2nd Team honors. First was Anthony Wilkie who started 12 games and tied for third in the conference with 7 wins on the year. He posted a 4.14 ERA in 54 innings pitched while striking out 58 opposing hitters. Joining him out of the bullpen was Judd Hildreth. Hildreth was huge for the Bucs as a sophomore, leading the team with a 2.93 ERA across 19 appearances while picking up 6 wins in relief which was second most among Citrus Conference bullpen arms.
The Bucs 10 All-Conference selections were more than any other team in the league in 2026. Seminole State swept the Conference Player and Pitcher of the Year awards with Juan Orozco closing the year on a tear to earn Player of the Year while Colton Sampson shook off his lone bad outing of the year against FSW to pick up Pitcher of the Year honors. Central Florida's Marty Smith was named the Conference Coach of the Year.
