*Suncoast Conference All-Academic Team (2020)

Freshman (2019-2020): Lane played in 22 games as a freshman, drawing his lone start against Oakton in late December. He averaged 3.1 points per game, thanks in part to his hot shooting from deep where he connected on 39% from three point land, ranking second on the team. 11 was his magic number in the scoring column as he hit that mark three times, including in back to back games against Miami Triple Threat and Wayne County early in the year.   

High School: Lane joined the Bucs roster in 2019 after prepping at Jones High School where he earned three letters and averaged 18 points and 4 rebounds per game as a senior.  

Personal: Born February 12, 2000, Lane is the son of Charles Lane and Ericka Ashe-Lane. He has one sister, Camryn (18) and one brother, Chancellor (12).  His cousin Jermaine Taylor starred at UCF before playing for two seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers finished the regular season on a high note Monday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, blowing out the visiting State College of Florida Manatees 96-75 to close the regular season 17-4.  Five FSW sophomores played their final career games at home in Fort Myers with four of the five scoring in double figures in the win.

Bucs Suffer Rare Conference Loss

The #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers suffered a rare conference loss Saturday night on the road at Indian River, battling back to tie the game at 75 and force overtime, before falling 87-83 in the extra period to snap an eight game winning streak.  It is the Bucs first conference loss in 43 games, with their last loss coming over four years ago, on February 15, 2017.

Big Second Half Propels #7 FSW Over Eastern in Road Test

It took the #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers a little while to get going Wednesday night on the road in Melbourne, but once they did, there wasn't much that Eastern Florida State could do to slow them down as the Bucs lit up the scoreboard for 46 second half points to run away with a 74-53 win over the Titans in non-conference action.

8th Ranked Bucs Earn Road Win at Polk

The #8 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers relied on their calling card, defense, Saturday night as they hit the road for the first time this season against Polk State.  The Bucs held the Eagles under 40% shooting and just one three pointer all night to come away with a 75-62 win to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Bucs Shake Off Slow Start For Opening Night Win

After losing nine players to the NCAA Division I level from a season ago, there was no doubt that things would look a little bit different for the 8th ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers this season.  That played true opening night as the Bucs used a more physical style than in past seasons, erasing a two point halftime deficit to grind past visiting Hillsborough 76-71 in Suncoast Credit Union Arena Wednesday night.

Young FSW Squad Begins Season Ranked #8 in NJCAA Poll

Just about 24 hours away from tip off of their 2021 season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have had high expectations put on them yet again as with Tuesday’s release of the NJCAA Preseason Top 25, the Bucs find themselves at #8, garnering a top 10 preseason ranking for the third straight year.
