Giles & Blazer Lead Bucs Over Bobcats
Kenyon Giles and Mason Blazer combined for 42 points as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers ran past the East Georgia State Bobcats 82-66 in a rare Monday afternoon game at the Eastern Florida Classic in Melbourne.

It was the Bucs defense that got them off to a solid start on Monday as FSW held East Georgia without a field goal for nearly six minutes to start the game, opening up a 10-1 lead out of the gates in the process. Five straight from Roman Cummings midway through the half extended the Bucs lead to 19-8 and a triple from Mason Blazer late in the half stretched the FSW advantage back to double digits at 32-22 with 1:27 to go in the period. The Bucs got the final four points of the half and went into the locker rooms with momentum and a 14 point lead at 36-22 after 20 minutes of action.
The Bucs quickly pushed their lead to 20 early in the second on triples from Lamont Hartfield and Kenyon Giles and with 10 minutes to go it was all FSW leading East Georgia 58-38. The Bucs never led the Bobcats get close as they maintained no less than a 15 point cushion the rest of the way before dribbling out an 82-66 win at the final buzzer.
The Bucs shot 53% from the field, 50% from the three point line and 71% from the line in the win while outrebounding East Georgia 42-26.
Giles finished with a game high 22 while Blazer was right behind him with 20 to lead the way for FSW.
The Bucs improve to 9-4 on the year with the win while East Georgia falls to 3-8.
FSW is back in action for the final time in 2025 on Tuesday when they take on another foe from the Peach State when they match up with Gordon State in a 2 PM tip from Melbourne.
