Miami Dade put a scare in the Bucs in their final at bats in the bottom of the 7th as a one out double and a two out walk put the tying and game winning runs on base, but Zoe Yzaguirre won a nine pitch battle in the circle to close things out as FSW hung on to win the opener 3-2.

The FSW 5th started with a web gem from the Sharks center fielder to rob Klismith of extra bases and it saved Miami Dade a run one batter later as Livingstone crushed a 3-2 pitch out to dead center for her third home run of the season to double the Bucs lead to 2-0.
The Bucs defense let them down in the bottom of the 5th as a leadoff single by the Sharks followed by back to back bunts the Bucs couldn't corral and a throw ending up in the right field corner allowed three unearned runs to score for Miami Dade to give the Sharks a 3-2 lead at the end of five complete.
FSW manufactured a run in the 6th as Basso walked to leadoff the inning to set the table and with two outs Maximiliana slapped a single the other way to drive home the run and level the score at 3 apiece after 5 ½.
The Bucs misplayed a fly ball in the outfield to allow a leadoff runner on second to start the Miami Dade 6th but Solo buckled down, retiring the next three hitters she faced including a strikeout to strand the runner on third to keep the game tied at 3 into the 7th.
Both teams put on a two out runner in the 7th but neither reached scoring position and were stranded at inning's end to send the game to extras tied at 3.
For the second time in three innings, Basso earned a leadoff walk to get things going for the Bucs in the 8th and also once again she moved into scoring position and was driven in by Maximiliana on a sacrifice fly to center to put FSW back ahead 4-3. Klismith slapped a single the other way to drive home a run and add to the lead and after stealing second, she scored on an RBI knock from Livingstone to give the Bucs a three run inning and a 6-3 lead at stretch time.
Miami Dade put a runner on and brought the game tying run to the on deck circle, but could get no closer as Solo induced a groundout to short to bring the game to a close as the Bucs finished the comeback in game two to win it 6-3 and complete the sweep.
Livingstone led the Bucs offense with a four hit effort, finishing 4-5 and missing the cycle by just a triple. Basso finished officially 1-1 with a home run, but reached base in all four plate appearances, drawing three walks and scoring twice. Solo went the distance in the circle, throwing all eight innings and scattering five hits while allowing just the three unearned runs in the 5th.
