Graham Perfect Again, Solo Fires Shutout in FSW Sweep
Charlotte Graham made FSW history, becoming the first Buccaneer to throw multiple perfect games, backing up her perfecto five weeks ago against St. Petersburg with another against the Titans Thursday in a 10-0 win before Alexandra Solo was nearly as good, throwing a one hitter in an 8-0 game two win for #3 Florida SouthWestern to extend their season long winning streak to 12.
CLEARWATER, Fla.- Charlotte Graham made FSW history, becoming the first Buccaneer to throw multiple perfect games, backing up her perfecto five weeks ago against St. Petersburg with another against the Titans Thursday in a 10-0 win before Alexandra Solo was nearly as good, throwing a one hitter in an 8-0 game two win for #3 Florida SouthWestern to extend their season long winning streak to 12.
Fans of offense were asking for a refund after the first three innings of game one as it was 12 up, 12 down through the first two innings for the two sides and a Lizzy Kwakernaak single was the only baserunner for either side through three scoreless frames.
The 4th looked like it was going to be the same song and dance as the first two FSW hitters of the inning were retired, but the Bucs put together a two out rally that included RBI doubles from Giorgiana Woods, Stephanie Basso, and Senna Grootings to break the deadlock and put the Purple and Aqua up 4-0 midway through.
Bucs starter Charlotte Graham continued to cruise in the St. Pete 4th , needing just nine pitches for a 1-2-3 frame with a pair of strikeouts to keep it 4-0 FSW into the 5th.
Both teams were retired in order in the 5th and in less than an hour's time the game was through five complete with FSW remaining in front of the Titans 4-0.
The Bucs blew things open in the 6th as Basso ripped her second RBI double of the ballgame to bring in a pair and make it 6-0 before Makayla Jakubuwski did the same to stretch the FSW lead to 8-0. That wasn't enough for the Bucs as Hailey Turner ripped a pinch hit RBI single back up the middle and Kaylee Walker drove in FSW's sixth run of the inning to blow it open to 10-0 Bucs after 5 ½.
Graham picked up strikeout numbers 10 and 11 to begin the 6th and then got a pop up to left to finish things off and kick the run rule in, securing her second perfect game of the season against the Titans.
It was 18 up and 18 down for Graham who becomes the first FSW player in program history to throw two perfect games, let alone in one season. It is the third perfect game in 2026 for the Bucs pitching staff after recording just one in program history coming into the season. As she did in her first perfecto against the Titans, Graham struck out 11 hitters and threw 54 of 70 pitches in the strike zone.
The bottom of the lineup provided the punch for the Bucs as their top three hitters combined to go 0-9 while their 6 through 8 slots went 6-9 with six RBIs. Basso led the way, going 2-3 with a pair of two run doubles while Grootings was 2-3 with two RBIs.
#3 FLORIDA SOUTHWESTERN/ST. PETERSBURG GAME ONE BOX SCORE
The Bucs didn't wait nearly as long to get the scoring going in game two as Bente Zwanenburg ripped a double to bring home two in the top of the 1st and Basso continued her big day with an RBI single to knock her in to make it 3-0 FSW after one.
It was more of the same in the 2nd as the Bucs continued to put traffic on the bases, scoring twice more to up their lead to 5-0.
FSW starter Alexandra Solo cruised through the Titans order 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 2nd and the Bucs offense continued to pour it on St. Pete in the 3rd.
Thaima Maximiliana tripled down the right field line to drive home two and Jakubuwski drove her home with a sac fly to make it 8-0 FSW.
Solo worked around the Titans best scoring threat of the game with a pair of baserunners in the bottom of the 3rd to keep St. Pete off the board and punched out a pair in a 1-2-3 bottom of the 4th to hold the 8-0 lead for the Bucs.
FSW didn't score again, but it didn't matter as Solo completed her shutout in the 5th to kick in the run rule as the Bucs finished off the sweep with an 8-0 win in five in game two.
Solo was outstanding in the circle, finishing just a leadoff single away from her second no-hitter of the season. She allowed just the one hit in five shutout frames to improve to 5-0 on the year for the Bucs.
10 Bucs combined to bang out 12 hits in the victory with Maximiliana leading the way at the top of the lineup, going 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Noelani Livingstone was a perfect 2-2 and Zwanenburg was officially 1-1 with three RBIs.
