Bucs Unanimous #1 In Week 10 Poll
Riding a 20 game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers were the unanimous #1 team in the country in the NJCAA Division I Softball Week 10 poll released on Monday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Riding a 20 game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers were the unanimous #1 team in the country in the NJCAA Division I Softball Week 10 poll released on Monday.
The Bucs continued their red hot run last week, going a perfect 4-0 against a pair of Top 10 opponents in #10 Indian River and #6 Santa Fe to improve to 45-5 on the year. The Bucs now have an eye-popping 17 wins over ranked opponents this season, far and away the most of any team in the NJCAA Division I ranks.
The top four in the week 10 rankings remained steady with FSW leading Northwest Florida, Northeast Alabama, and Temple while Trinity Valley shot up four places to take over at #5. The Bucs were one of seven Citrus Conference teams in the Top 25 including #6 Santa Fe, #10 Indian River, #12 Eastern Florida, #15 Miami Dade, #19 Seminole State, and #23 Daytona State.
The Bucs are back in action on Tuesday in Tampa where they will take on Hillsborough in a doubleheader beginning at 4 PM. FSW needs only a split to clinch their 10th consecutive Conference Championship before returning home Saturday for a Sophomore Day matchup with #19 Seminole State at Buccaneers Park.
