Bucs Draw Top Seed For 2026 NJCAA World Series
For the third time in program history, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers will head to the NJCAA World Series as the #1 seed as revealed during the NJCAA Selection Show Tuesday night.
OXFORD, Ala.- For the third time in program history, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers will head to the NJCAA World Series as the #1 seed as revealed during the NJCAA Selection Show Tuesday night.
FSW earned top billing with a resume that included a 54-5 overall record, including 25 wins over Top 25 ranked teams, while riding a 29 game winning streak into the tournament.
With the #1 seed, the Bucs earn a first round bye and will take on the winner of Monday's McCook/San Jacinto matchup on Tuesday in the second round at 12:00 (ET) at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. If FSW is able to win that contest, they may run into a familiar face in round number three on Wednesday, as they would see the winner of the Eastern Florida/Trinity Valley second round game in their quadrant.
The top four seeds in the tournament matched the top four teams in the final NJCAA National Rankings as FSW earned the #1 seed, Region 8 rival Northwest Florida is the #2, Northeast Alabama drew the #3 seed, and Temple from Texas is #4. For the first time in history, four FCSAA teams will play in the World Series with FSW and Northwest Florida leading the way at #1 and #2, Eastern Florida drawing the #9 seed, and Santa Fe picking up the #11 seed.
FSW has played for the National Championship in four of the past five seasons, becoming just the second team in NJCAA history to win three straight in 2021, 2022, and 2023. It will be the 9th time in 10 seasons that the Bucs have competed at the NJCAA World Series.
Bucs fans who want to cheer on the team, but can't make the trip to Oxford will be able to do so alongside other FSW faithful at the team's official watch party at Miller's Ale House in Fort Myers throughout the tournament.
