Bucs Duo Earns 1st Team NJCAA All-American Honors
After leading the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers to Citrus Conference and FCSAA Championships and a third place finish at the NJCAA World Series, sophomores Noelani Livingstone and Zoe Yzaguirre have been named 1st Team NJCAA All-Americans in a release by the National Office on Wednesday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers to Citrus Conference and FCSAA Championships and a third place finish at the NJCAA World Series, sophomores Noelani Livingstone and Zoe Yzaguirre have been named 1st Team NJCAA All-Americans in a release by the National Office on Wednesday.
Livingstone put up monster numbers across the board for the Bucs, hitting .526 which ranked 6th in the NJCAA while clubbing a team best 29 extra base hits which included 16 doubles, 6 triples, and 7 home runs. She accounted for 125 runs in 60 games played, scoring 68 times and driving in another 57. She came up big when the Bucs needed her the most in the postseason, hitting .600 with 7 RBIs and 6 runs scored in three games to lead FSW to their second straight FCSAA Championship, earning Most Valuable Player honors for the tournament. She did it again one week later at the NJCAA World Series in Alabama, hitting .714 in the Bucs five games while putting together a 2.051 OPS to pick up Most Outstanding Hitter of the Tournament accolades.
Yzaguirre was the Bucs staff ace all season long, working both as a starter and out of the bullpen in high leverage situations. She finished the year 19-2 with a 1.23 ERA which ranked 5th in the NJCAA. She racked up 126 strikeouts in 119 1/3 innings pitched while allowing opposing hitters to hit just .171 against her this season. She was 2-0 for the Bucs at the FCSAA Championships, earning Most Outstanding Pitcher honors, allowing just one earned run in seven innings of work.
It marks the first time since 2019 that the Bucs have had multiple 1st Team All-Americans when Kelsi Collins, Rebeca Laudino, and Owen Bowers earned the honors.
