Bio

High School: Bryson joins the Bucs from Memphis' Mitchell High School where she averaged 22.5 points per game during her senior season.  She had a pair of huge games for Mitchell, putting up 46 and 45 point performances during her senior season. She was a three time All-District selection and was named to the District Tournament All-Tournament team three times as well.  In 2020 she was named the District Player of the Year.  She also starred on the track for Mitchell.  

Personal: Born on Christmas Day 2001, she is the daughter of Latita Seymore and Carlos Bryson.

The Southern Conference Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were well represented on this season's All-Conference Team as freshman Patience Williams was named the conference's Player of the Year and four other players earned honors as released by the league this week.

Bucs Start Slow, Finish Strong Against DME

For three quarters, it was a grind for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Monday night in their 2020-2021 regular season finale against DME Academy.  Thankfully the Bucs woke up in the fourth quarter, lighting the scoreboard up for 35 points to come from behind and finish off an 80-62 win to improve to 13-5 on the year.

Bucs Comeback Bid Comes Up Just Short Against Miami Dade

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took care of what they thought was going to be the hard part of their final week of Southern Conference play on Wednesday, defeating #18 Indian River to take over first place in the conference standings, but little did they know, Saturday's matchup against Miami Dade, who had won just one conference game all season going into the afternoon, would be the ones to dash their hopes as the Sharks raced out to a 25 point second half lead before holding off a late comeback by FSW for a 67-65 win. After 40 grueling minutes against the Sharks Saturday, the Bucs now turn to Miami Dade fans as their Conference Championship hopes lie in the Sharks' fins.  A Miami Dade win over Indian River Monday gives the Bucs the Southern crown while a Pioneer victory would send the title to Fort Pierce.

Bucs Clinch Spot in State Tournament With Win Over Palm Beach

With March Madness beginning in Indianapolis and San Antonio this week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers assured that they would be competing in some March (April) Madness of their own this season, beating Palm Beach State 68-61 to punch their ticket to Niceville and the 2021 FCSAA State Tournament.

Bucs Drop Top 25 Matchup With Pioneers

It was supposed to be a Top 25 showdown for the #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #23 Indian River State Pioneers Saturday afternoon in Fort Pierce, but somebody forgot to tell the Bucs who fell behind 16-4 early and played catch up the rest of the way, eventually falling 61-53 for their second straight Southern Conference defeat.

FSW Wins Battle of the 12s

It was a unique matchup Thursday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena as the #12 team in NJCAA's Division I, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, took on the #12 team in NJCAA's Division II, the Morton Panthers from Illinois. After being tied at 21 at the end of one, FSW dominated the final three quarters of action, pulling ahead for a 14 point lead at the half before going on to win 78-51 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Bucs Suffer First Loss of 2021 Season

If you play with fire enough, you will eventually get burned.  The #9 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers played with fire in each of their past three games and got out unscathed.  Friday on the road at St. Petersburg, they did it again, but unfortunately this time, they weren't able to pull it out, falling 76-64 to the Titans for their first loss of the 2021 season.

Williams Has Career Night as Bucs Win Top 25 Battle

Florida SouthWestern State freshman Patience Williams didn’t play like a freshman in her first game against a top 25 ranked opponent Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.  The Buccaneers rookie put up 31 points and pulled down 18 rebounds as #12 FSW outlasted #25 Indian River 74-72 in an instant Southern Conference classic.

'Solid Six' Sneak Past Palm Beach in Conference Opener

Everything was stacked against the #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Wednesday night as they went on the road for their 2021 Southern Conference opener against the Palm Beach Panthers.  The Bucs were on the road in an unfamiliar atmosphere, taking the court for the first time in 21 days, and dressed just six players for the contest.  Despite all of that, the self named 'Solid Six' went to Lake Worth and grinded out a 54-48 victory to move to 2-0 on the year.
