High School: Murray earned a pair of letters at Tampa Bay Tech and Winter Haven High School, leading TBT to a State Championship during the 2019-2020 season. 

Personal: Born February 11, 2003, she is the daughter of Lakwanda and Jerome Murray. She has three brothers, Jacobi, Jordan, and Jerome.

The #20 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dropped an overtime heartbreaker to the #14 Chipola Indians 63-61 Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the FCSAA State Tournament, likely bringing an end to the Bucs 2021-2022 season.

#17 FSW Stunned at the Wire by Pioneers

The #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers led by five with under 30 seconds to go and led by four with less than 15 seconds to go Wednesday night on the road at Indian River, but with 0 seconds to go, the Bucs were on the short end of a 63-62 decision as the Pioneers rained in nine points in the game's final 27 seconds to stun the Bucs in FSW's penultimate game of the 2022 regular season.

Sariana Rodriguez and Macarena Retamales combined for 38 points to lead the #18 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers over the Hillsborough Hawks 82-70 in Southern Conference action Saturday in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.  With the win, the Bucs clinch at least a share of their fifth straight conference title.

FSW Hangs On Late to Defeat Hillsborough

The #23 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers built a 22 point third quarter lead before hanging on late to down the Hillsborough Hawks 76-64 Wednesday night in Tampa to remain unbeaten in Southern Cnference play.

Hot Start Not Enough For Bucs in Top 20 Matchup

As the old saying goes, it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Unfortunately for the #18 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, they were the victims of that Thursday night in their top 20 matchup with #13 South Georgia Tech, jumping out to a 12-2 lead to begin the game just to see that lead evaporate and play catch up the rest of the game, ultimately coming up short in an 80-74 loss to snap a six game win streak.

Bucs Bench Sparks Win Over Sharks

Ronaltha Marc and Aaliyah Williams combined for 26 points off the bench and Tyshonne Tollie recorded her first double-double of the season as the #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rolled over the Miami Dade Sharks 67-48 in Southern Conference action Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.

Murray Leads Bucs Over Hillsborough in Conference Opener

Playing in the first Southern Conference game of her collegiate career, Florida SouthWestern freshman Jayla Murray put her team on her back Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, scoring a career high 26 points to lead the #23 Buccaneers over the visiting Hillsborough Hawks 83-65 to kick off league play for FSW.

Bucs Double Up Pats in Final Non-Conference Tune-Up

Taking the court for the first time in three weeks, the #23 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers raced out to an early lead and never looked back Friday night on the road in Lake Worth as they battered the Patrick & Henry Patriots 90-45 in their final tune-up before Southern Conference play begins on Saturday.

Hot Shooting DME Shocks Bucs at Home

Two weeks ago on the road in Daytona, the #11 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers easily handled DME Academy in a 19 point victory.  The Bucs saw DME again on Friday at home in Suncoast Arena, except this time DME's roster looked a little bit different and it paid off for the Prep School as DME shot a blistering 61% from the field to stun FSW 85-79, bringing the Bucs seven game winning streak to a screeching halt.

Bucs Defense Locks Down Daytona For Seventh Straight

For the sixth time in eight games, the #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers held their opponent to under 50 points Friday night as they locked down the Daytona State Falcons for a 73-45 win to move to 7-1 on the year.

The #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers cruised to their sixth straight victory Tuesday afternoon in Jacksonville, suffocating the Florida State College at Jacksonville Blue Waves with their defense to run away with a 61-38 victory to improve to 6-1 on the year.
