FORT MYERS, Fla.- A Fort Myers legend will be joining the coaching staff for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers this season as FSW Head Coach Jamie Fisher has announced that he has added former Dunbar and FGCU star Keri Jewett-Giles to the bench as an Assistant Coach for the 2025-2026 season.
Jewett-Giles began her coaching career with her alma mater last season, helping FGCU to their ninth straight ASUN Conference Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament while helping guide the Eagles to a 30-4 season. Jewett-Giles shared the bench alongside her former coaches Karl Smesko and Chelsea Lyles at FGCU, both of which are now leading the WNBA's Atlanta Dream.
As a player Jewett-Giles had a legendary career at both FGCU and Southern Miss. She was named to the ASUN All-Decade Team, racking up 957 points at FGCU and another 507 at Southern Miss to give her nearly 1,500 points in her collegiate career. As a senior with the Eagles she was the ASUN Player of the Year and an Honorable Mention WBCA All-American while also being named a Semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. But it wasn't just on the court where Jewett-Giles succeeded as she was named the ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
After finishing her career with the Eagles she went on to have a four year professional career in Europe and Africa where she played in Belgium, Egypt, Jordan, Sweden, and Slovakia.
Jewett-Giles will join a Bucs squad coming off of a 25 win season that included their first Citrus Conference Championship and a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament Sweet 16.
FSW begins their 2025-2026 season on October 31st in Jacksonville at the FSCJ Classic.
