CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After a frustrating loss followed by a historic win, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers fell one spot to #19 in the latest NJCAA National Rankings.
FSW moved to 3-2 on the year after the split at home in Suncoast Credit Union Arena over the weekend. Friday they dropped a 61-58 decision to Western Wyoming in a game marred by 26 Bucs turnovers. But they bounced back on Saturday with their best regular season win in program history, taking down the defending National Champion and #1 ranked Northwest Florida State Raiders 53-52 to end the weekend on a high note.
After the Bucs knocked the Raiders from the top spot, it was Dodge City assuming the #1 spot in the new rankings with Chipola, Three Rivers, and Gulf Coast State moving in front of Northwest Florida at #5. Western Wyoming joined the poll at #25 after their win over the Bucs.
The Bucs are back in action this weekend when they make the long trip to the Panhandle where they will take on Bishop State Friday before battling the host Pensacola State Pirates Saturday afternoon.
