FORT MYERS, Fla.- Following an All-Conference sophomore season at Florida SouthWestern, Buccaneers forward Destinie Gordon has signed to play at the University of New Orleans next season.
Gordon was a 1st Team All-Citrus Conference selection for the Bucs this season, putting up 10.8 points and a team best 9.1 rebounds per game in 31 contests. She scored in double figures 17 times on the year, putting up a season high 22 to kick off the new year in an early January win over Hillsborough. She also pulled down 10 or more rebounds 15 different times including a 21 board effort against Albany Tech which was tied for the second most rebounds in a single game in program history. She pair the two eight different times for double-doubles.
She will try to help turn the tide for the Privateers who finished just 3-27 a season ago.
Gordon is one of two Bucs to sign at the Division I level from this year's squad, joining Chelsea Bishop who inked at the University of Texas-Arlington.
