Bishop to Join Mavs After All-Conference Campaign
Florida SouthWestern forward Chelsea Bishop will be trading in her flip flops for cowboy boots next season after signing to play at the University of Texas Arlington.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern forward Chelsea Bishop will be trading in her flip flops for cowboy boots next season after signing to play at the University of Texas Arlington.
Bishop was the Bucs top performer this season, putting up a team high 15.3 points per game while shooting 49% from the field and 38% from the three point line. She earned 1st Team All-Citrus Conference and 1st Team All-FCSAA honors for her work. She scored in double figures in 21 of 27 games for the Bucs this season, including seven 20+ point efforts. She had her best game of the year in a wild comeback at Eastern Florida, scoring 25 of her career high 29 points in the second half of a 73-71 FSW come from behind victory over the Titans.
She will try to help get UT Arlington back on track after a rare down year in 2025-2026. The Mavs finished just 12-21 overall but did make a late season push into the WAC semifinals after tournament wins over Utah Tech and Southern Utah.
Bishop is one of two Bucs to sign at the Division I level from this year's squad, joining Destinie Gordon who inked at New Orleans.
