Bio

High School: Leweling prepped at Reismann Gymnasium Paderborn where she led them to a National Championship and was named MVP as a senior.  She played club for VoR Paderborn where she helped them to Regional Championships in 16u, 18u, and 20u.  

Personal: Born March 1, 2001, she is the daughter of Joerg & Susanne Leweling.  She has one sister, Pia (21).

Bucs Finish 4th at FCSAA State Tournament

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers saw their inaugural 2019 season come to a close this weekend, but not before making some noise and finishing fourth at the FCSAA State Tournament in Jacksonville. After splitting a pair of matches on the opening day of the eight team tournament, the Bucs pulled off the upset of the weekend with a 3-2 win over #14 Central Florida on Saturday before falling for the second time in as many days to #13 Hillsborough to draw their first campaign to an end.

In a whirlwind 24 hour stretch for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, they went from thinking that their season was over to earning their first FCSAA State Tournament victory after knocking off Florida State College at Jacksonville 3-1 in an elimination contest Friday night in Jacksonville.

With Suncoast Conference action in the rearview mirror and the postseason ahead of them, a league high five Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored with All-Conference selections on Wednesday as Julia de Sa and Anna Leweling were named 1st Team All-Conference picks, while Marina Alonso, Amanda Mendes, and Viktoria Ivanova were tabbed 2nd Team All-Conference choices.

Bucs Sweep Regular Season Finale, Await At-Large Call

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers closed out their first regular season in program history in style on Tuesday in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, sweeping State College of Florida 3-0 for their fifth win in their past six matches.  The Bucs now await a decision from the state’s volleyball committee as to whether they have done enough to earn one of the two at-large bids for the State Tournament, or if Tuesday was the final time they would take the court in 2019.

Mendes/Leweling's Big Nights Not Enough For Bucs Against 10th Ranked Hawks

If you just looked at Amanda Mendes and Anna Leweling’s final stat lines from Florida SouthWestern’s Suncoast Conference match Thursday at home against #10 Hillsborough, you would think that the Bucs would have had a pretty good chance to win.  After all, the two freshmen combined for 28 kills and a .350 hitting percentage in just three sets against the Lady Hawks.  Unfortunately, the rest of the FSW hitters combined for only 13 kills and a .041 hitting mark as the Bucs dropped a pair of sets 25-23 and the other 25-20 to drop to 8-6 overall and 0-2 to start their first Suncoast Conference campaign.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were hoping that Tuesday was going to be a night to remember as they took on #17 St. Petersburg in their inaugural Suncoast Conference match. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite as the Bucs were swept off the floor 3-0 by the Titans, dropping them to 8-5 on the year.

For the first time in program history, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will take the court at home on Monday as they host the Ave Maria Gyrenes in exhibition action beginning at 6 pm.  Activities will begin in the arena at 3 pm when the FSW Foundation unveils the new court in Suncoast Credit Union Arena and after the match, the Bucs will hold a meet and greet where fans can get posters signed and get to know FSW’s first Volleyball team.  Admission to the match is free to all fans.
