Freshman: De Sa played in all 24 matches for the Bucs as a freshman, ultimately earning 1st Team All-Suncoast honors.  She led the Bucs with 3.06 kills per set and was second on the squad with 2.27 digs per set.  She was also solid from the service line, recording 14 aces which ranked second on the team.  She notched four double-doubles on the season including a 19 kill, 13 dig performance against Florida State College-Jacksonville and a 14 kill, 14 dig effort in a three set win over State College of Florida.  She topped the 10 kill mark in 13 different matches as a rookie and had 10 or more digs in eight different contests.  

High School: De Sa prepped at Dr. Baeta Neves, winning a number of championships along the way.  In 2013 her team won the School Championships in Brazil and finished second in the South American Championships. 

Personal: Born August 11, 1999, De Sa is the daughter of Rita and Jose de Sa. She has one sister, Clara (17) and one brother, Filipe (28).  De Sa has seven club teammates that will be playing in the US this year.

With five years of Florida SouthWestern State Athletics in the books and without any Buccaneer teams playing to cheer for this Fall, we will take a look back at special moments throughout the past five years in our ‘On This Date in History’ series.  We begin the series today with a first, as we turn the calendar back one year to the first FSW Volleyball home matches in program history as the Bucs took on undefeated Broward and 15th ranked Central Florida at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.
