Freshman (2021): Koehler had a big freshman season for the Bucs, playing in 29 of 30 matches while averaging 2.68 kills and 2.30 digs per set en route to being named 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-Conference.  She finished the season with 276 kills, most by an FSW freshman in program history while also ranking in the top 10 in digs, aces, and blocks. She had 13 matches with 10 or more kills including a career high 21 in the FCSAA State Tournament against Polk State.  Three of those performances came at the NJCAA National Tournament where she earned All-Tournament Team honors for her efforts.  Equally as successful in the classroom, Koehler was a member of the FCSAA and Suncoast Conference All-Academic Teams as well as being named a member of the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team.  

High School: Koehler joined the Bucs from Mato Grosso in Brazil where she attended Colegio Nacional.  She played for Esporte Clube Pinheiros in 2019, helping them to a first place finish in the Paulista Tournament. 

Personal: Born June 12, 2002, she is the daughter of Egidio Koehler and Eliza Regina Goncalves. She has an older brother, Bruno (34).

After winning an NJCAA National Championship on the court this Fall, Florida SouthWestern Volleyball players Barbara Koehler and Julia Lawrenz earned the ultimate off the court honor on Monday as the pair was named 2023 CSC Academic All-Americans, an honor that goes to just 11 two-year student-athletes across all sports nationwide.  Furthermore, the duo was the only pair of teammates of any program in the country to receive the honors.

Florida SouthWestern sophomore Barbara Koehler was named the top two-year volleyball player in the country on Wednesday as the Bucs outside hitter earned the prestigious AVCA National Player of the Year award, beating out other candidates from the NJCAA Division I, II, and III ranks, as well as players from the CCCAA and NWAC.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are National Champions.  The Bucs secured their first National Championship in just their fourth season of competition Saturday night in West Plains, Missouri, defeating their archrivals, the Miami Dade Sharks 3-1 in the final game of the 2022 NJCAA Volleyball season. FSW's Barbara Koehler was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament while Bucs Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named the Heidi Cartisser Coach of the Tournament.

#1 FSW Rolls To Opening Round Win at National Tournament

The top seeded Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers mowed through the #16 Wallace State Lions with clinical precision Thursday afternoon at the NJCAA National Tournament, needing less than an hour to put together a 3-0 win to advance to their second straight National Tournament Quarterfinal Thursday night where they will take on #9 Central Wyoming.

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rolled to their second three set victory of the day Thursday night at the NJCAA National Tournament as they took on the #9 Central Wyoming Rustlers and in doing so earning their first trip to the NJCAA Final Four in program history in the process.

Bucs Win First FCSAA State Championship

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers made history in more than one way on Saturday in Melbourne, not only winning the program's first FCSAA State Championship in a dominating 3-0 effort, but they did it against their arch rivals, the #7 Miami Dade Sharks, making themselves just the third team in the 53 year history of the FCSAA to knock off the Sharks in a State Championship Game.

Bucs Blast Titans, Advance to State Championship Showdown

A season ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were stunned in the semifinals of the FCSAA State Tournament with a 3-2 loss to Polk State to end their dreams of the program's first State Championship.  Friday, in the same position one year later in Melbourne, the Bucs weren't going to let that happen again as they jumped on the #17 Eastern Florida State Titans early and never relented, hammering the Cinderella Titans 3-0 on Eastern's home floor to advance to their second FCSAA State Championship Game in the past three seasons.

After winning their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship on the final week of the regular season last week, a league high six Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored for their efforts Thursday night at the FCSAA State Tournament banquet as Alondra Alarcon, Julia Lawrenz, Maria Cecilia, Arianna Rossi, Barbara Koehler, and Roberta Purashaj were named to the Suncoast Conference All-Conference Team while Purashaj was named the Freshman of the Year and Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the third straight year.

It was an emotional night inside of Alico Arena on Thursday as the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers closed out the 2022 regular season with their annual Sophomore Night game against the Polk State Eagles.  The tears flowing pregame for seven FSW sophomores playing their final career games in front of their home crowd were turned into motivation as the first set began as the Bucs hammered the visiting Eagles 25-6  before winning tight second and third sets to finish off the sweep and head to the postseason on a five game winning streak and a 21-1 record overall.

In a matchup made for a Hollywood movie, the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #6 Miami Dade Sharks went blow for blow Tuesday night in Miami with a raucous crowd on both sides cheering on the top two teams in the Suncoast Conference.  After the Sharks landed the first shot, FSW bounced back and took the second but went down once again as Miami Dade squeaked out the third. The Bucs kept fighting, dominating the fourth set to force a fifth and deciding stanza where FSW outlasted the Sharks 15-10 to take the match 3-2 and in the process clinch their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship and the #1 seed for the upcoming FCSAA State Tournament.

#2 FSW Sweeps #4 Miami Dade in Suncoast Showdown

In an NJCAA Top 5 showdown Saturday afternoon at Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myres, the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rose to the occasion, sweeping the #4 Miami Dade Sharks 3-0 to take over sole possession of first place in the Suncoast Conference standings with two games left to go.

Bucs Return Home With Dominating Performance

Playing at home in Fort Myers for the first time since the devastating Hurricane in southwest Florida, the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show for their fans Thursday night, hammering the visiting Eastern Florida State Titans 3-0 in a match that only lasted an hour and five minutes and that the Bucs never trailed in.

Bucs Ace Way To Win Over #13 Hillsborough

The #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers used a strong serve and a relentless offensive attack to bounce back from a first set loss to down the #13 Hillsborough Hawks 3-1 on the road Saturday afternoon in Tampa.  The Bucs dialed up a program record 18 aces in the win including 7 from Maria Cecilia who set a program individual single game record as well in the victory.

The Indian River Pioneers were in the wrong place at the wrong time Thursday night as the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers came out angry off of their first loss of the 2022 campaign, putting on a clinic in a 3-0 sweep to improve to 16-1 on the year.

Bucs Attack Too Much For #14 Hillsborough

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have had the top offensive attack in the Suncoast Conference through the first half of the 2022 season and Thursday night they flexed their muscles and continued that trend, pounding home 51 kills from seven different players in a 3-0 sweep of #14 Hillsborough to improve to 13-0 on the year.

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got all they wanted and then some on Saturday morning in Las Vegas as the Bucs fought back after losing the first set to #15 Seward County for a 3-1 win including a 31-29 come from behind win in the fourth set to improve to 8-0 on the 2022 season.

Bucs Begin Sin City Trip With Pair of Wins

After experiencing the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip Wednesday night, the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers came out ready to put on a show of their own on the Volleyball court Thursday as they opened up play at the Coyote Classic in Sin City.  The Bucs started the tournament with a 3-0 sweep over host College of Southern Nevada before grinding out a 3-0 win over Arizona Western in their nightcap to improve to 7-0 on the year.

FSW Dominates #9 Central Wyoming, #1 Iowa Western to Remain Unbeaten

The #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up the 2022 Battle at the Beach Tournament with a pair of signature early season wins on Saturday, first sweeping #9 Central Wyoming 3-0 before hammering the two time defending National Champion and #1 ranked Iowa Western Reivers 3-0 in their nightcap to improve to 4-0 on the year.

Bucs Attack Sharp in 2022 Openers

The #4 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers used a potent offensive attack to pick up a pair of wins on the opening day of the 2022 Battle of the Beach Tournament at Suncoast Credit Union Arena Friday.  FSW opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over Trinity Valley, setting a number of new program single game records in the process before sweeping #14 Utah State-Eastern in the nightcap to start their season a perfect 2-0.
