Bucs Draw 3 Seed, Face Mineral Area in National Tournament Opening Round
The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers quest for their fourth consecutive National Championship will begin as the 3 seed in Clarksville, Tennessee at the 2025 NJCAA National Tournament as announced by the National Office on the tournament’s Selection Show Wednesday.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers quest for their fourth consecutive National Championship will begin as the 3 seed in Clarksville, Tennessee at the 2025 NJCAA National Tournament as announced by the National Office on the tournament's Selection Show Wednesday.
The Bucs earned the 3 seed after going 24-3 with nine wins over Top 20 ranked opponents including four over the Top 10. FSW was 5-2 overall against the tournament field this season including wins over both the #1 and #2 seeds in Miami Dade and Weatherford. The Bucs will square off against Mineral Area from Missouri who picked up a 14 seed with a 27-2 record on the year.
The Bucs and Cardinals will open the tournament on Wednesday, November 19th at 11:00 AM (ET) with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals Thursday where they will take on the winner of the all Texas, Trinity Valley/Frank Phillips matchup.
Miami Dade earned the top overall seed at the tournament after dethroning the Bucs in the state this season. Weatherford, who the Bucs beat 3-0 earlier this season is the #2 seed while Northeastern begins at #4 to headline the fourth quadrant.
In qualifying as the Atlantic District B Champions, FSW will be making their sixth straight trip to the National Tournament in their seven seasons as a program.
