FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida SouthWestern State College Volleyball has once again been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, an honor presented annually to programs that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement as a team.

The recognition reflects the continued commitment of FSW Volleyball student-athletes to success both on the court and in the classroom.

"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for the dedication and discipline they demonstrate every day," said Head Volleyball Coach Benatti. "This award represents the culture of excellence our program strives to uphold, and it's a testament to the hard work of every member of our team."

The Buccaneers' success extends beyond competition, emphasizing academic achievement as a cornerstone of the student-athlete experience. The program's continued recognition by the AVCA highlights the commitment of its student-athletes, coaching staff, faculty, and academic support team.

Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Kevin K. Lynum praised the accomplishment.

Special recognition is also extended to Kara Imburgia, whose leadership and support as the program's academic advisor have played an important role in helping student-athletes achieve success in the classroom.

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate volleyball programs that maintain a high team grade point average throughout the academic year, celebrating institutions that prioritize academic excellence alongside athletic achievement.
