*FCSAA Championships Most Outstanding Pitcher (2025)

Freshman (2025): Lorenz was a workhorse out of the Bucs bullpen as a freshman last season, appearing in 19 games, going 6-2 with four saves. He logged 39 2/3 innings, posting a 3.86 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP on the year. Lorenz was lights out down the stretch for the Bucs on their way to their first Citrus Conference Championship, not allowing a run over his final seven appearances of the regular season, a span of 12 innings, allowing just six total hits along the way while posting a 13/1 strikeout to walk ratio. He continued his dominance in the FCSAA Tournament with three more scoreless outings, the first to punch the Bucs ticket to the FCSAA Final Four and the final to close out FSW's FCSAA Championship victory to send them onto Grand Junction for the first time in program history. For his efforts, Lorenz was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher at the FCSAA Championships, the first player in program history to achieve that. 

Redshirt (2024): Lorenz sat out during the 2024 season at North Florida. 

High School: Lorenz played at Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida where he was a four time latterwinner.  He was twice named his team MVP including his senior year when he threw 75 2/3 innings and struck out 93 opposing batters. 

Personal: Born March 28, 2005, he is the son of Alicia and Richard Lorenz.  He has an older sister, Alex (24).

The #10 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers saw their 2026 regular season come to an end in disappointing fashion Friday in Miami as the Miami Dade Sharks walked them off with a two run home run in the bottom of the 7th in a 5-4 game one win before scoring three runs in the final two innings in game two of the doubleheader to win 5-2 to take the series and send the Bucs on the road for the first round of the FCSAA Tournament for the first time in three seasons.

The #9 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers finished off their suspended game with the St. Petersburg Titans with a 9-6 victory Friday afternoon at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater.
